Your data stays under your control.
UC Journal Companion helps you prepare wording before you copy it into your official Universal Credit journal. It does not access your Universal Credit account, post into your journal or send anything to DWP.
Privacy summary
This is a private preparation workspace. You write here first, review the output, and decide what to copy manually into your official Universal Credit journal.
Do not enter your Universal Credit login details, National Insurance number, bank details, card details, full home address, full date of birth or unnecessary private identifiers into this app.
What the app may store
Your account may include your email address, account settings, Privacy Mode and Safety Mode settings, subscription metadata, Work Search Logger entries, Claim Context, and saved drafts where you choose to save them.
Work Search Logger entries are saved because that tool is designed as a private logbook. Claim Context is saved because its purpose is to help the tools compare your wording against your saved commitments, work plan, availability, restrictions and work-coach instructions.
Privacy Mode
Privacy Mode means AI draft content is copy-only by default. The app does not save AI draft content unless you actively choose to save it where that option exists.
Privacy Mode does not mean the app stores nothing. Saved logs, saved Claim Context, account settings and billing metadata still exist where they are needed for the service to work.
Saved drafts and Claim Context
Saved draft content and Claim Context content are encrypted before storage.
Claim Context is user-owned background information. It is not an official DWP source, not official proof, and not sent to DWP by this app.
AI and source limits
The app uses AI to help organise and rewrite wording. AI can make mistakes, misunderstand unclear information or miss context. Read all output carefully before copying anything.
The app uses stored public guidance/source chunks where available. The source library may not cover every Universal Credit situation, and guidance can change.
Billing data
Billing is handled through Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by this app. The app stores subscription metadata so it can decide whether your account has paid tool access.
Subscription cancellation is managed separately through Billing and the Stripe Customer Portal. A deletion request does not automatically cancel a Stripe subscription.
Download my data
Download a JSON export of app data linked to your logged-in account, including account data, settings, subscription metadata, work search logs, Claim Context and saved drafts where they can be safely decrypted for your account.
Treat your export as private. Do not paste the export JSON into chat, upload it publicly or share it casually.
Request deletion
This records a deletion request for your app data. For this V0, it does not instantly delete your Supabase Auth user or Stripe billing records, and it does not cancel your subscription automatically.
Use Billing to manage or cancel your subscription separately. Final deletion fulfilment process and support details must be reviewed before public launch.
Subscription cancellation
Subscription cancellation and payment management are handled through Billing and the Stripe Customer Portal.
